Ms. Haruka Yukioka
Hello Global Arts Community!
My name is Haruka Yukioka. The students call me Ms. Haruka (Hah-roo-kah). I'm one of the music specialists at Global Arts Plus Lower along with Mrs. Kroetsch. This year, I'll be teaching music to students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade! This is my first year teaching, and I am beyond excited to get to know the Global Arts Plus students and families and explore music together.
This year in music, your student will:
• explore the different elements of music, including melody, rhythm, harmony, dynamics, tone color, texture, and form
• play games and activities that strengthen their fine and gross motor skills
• learn about musical traditions from cultures all over the world
• develop their personal music taste as they respond to music that we listen to in class
If you would like to meet or communicate for any reason, please don't hesitate to reach out! Emailing me at email@example.com is the quickest way to get in touch with me.
I live in St. Paul with my partner and our many house plants. My musical hobbies include playing viola with the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra and volunteering with Voices of Hope, a choral organization that provides access to musical opportunities for incarcerated people at the Shakopee Women's Prison and Stillwater Men's Prison. My non-musical hobbies include cooking and playing Pokemon Go.
