Hello,

I am Sydney Acosta (Teacher Sydney), I go by they/them/theirs pronouns.

This is my first year at RiverEast School, but I have been a special education teacher working with Elementary School kiddos for 7 years now. My main focus has been working with kiddos with an ASD and DCD eligibility. I love teaching and working with our kiddos to create a safe space, and a second home here at our school.

I enjoy listening to music and reading, as well as spending tons of time with my sweet doggo Ollie, who is like my child.

I firmly believe in meeting our kids where they are at, and using curriculum, and trauma informed practices to help our students gain independence skills as well as using self-regulation tools to help them navigate their emotions.

I look forward to meeting our classroom and having a successful school year!
