A letter from the coach to incoming freshman:
Dear Central Parents & Students,
We are excited to hear that you or your son/daughter are interested in joining the Central Cross Country team. On the cross country team we have worked hard to establish a team culture that values hard work, dedication, community and academic achievement.
Central Cross Country has a strong tradition both in competition and as student athletes. Last year, the boys were the City Conference Champions and the girls were runners-up. Both teams also achieved the Minnesota State High School Cross Country Gold Standard for academic excellence.
The coaches for cross country are head coach Mike Reneau, and assistant coach Morgan Wiechmann.
Please feel free to contact both of us with questions at any time.
● Mike Reneau: firstname.lastname@example.org or (612) 475-4444
● Morgan Wiechmann: email@example.com
Official practice for the cross country season will start on August 14 at Central High School at 8:00 am.
Practice will be held in the morning before the start of the school year, and then will continue after school from 2:30-4:30 pm during the school year. Competitions are typically Tuesday or Thursday after school, with a couple Saturday races. There is a tentative meet schedule posted on our team website at www.centralxc.com. Captain’s practices are held throughout the summer. We also plan a 3-day overnight “Marathon Weekend” camp at Willow River State Park in July. This is a great way for incoming freshman to meet some of their new teammates and is open to anyone interested in joining the cross-country team. Please contact the 2017 cross country captains for details about summer practices and Marathon Weekend.
