A letter from the coach to incoming freshman:

Dear Incoming Central Girls Soccer Player and Family:

Welcome to Central Soccer. We have a strong program that we are glad to have you join. Most importantly, welcome to Central High School. It is a great place to be a student and an athlete. We hope to have three great soccer teams (C-Team, JV, and Varsity) at Central next year and players have the opportunity to create lifelong positive memories and grow on each of them.

Information about our teams can be found at our website:

Information specific to tryouts is available here:

Although the official season doesn't begin until August 13th, we start training for the season in June. Important dates and information for the fall season follow.

Incoming 9th grader/Transfer student soccer meeting Wednesday May 30th at 6:00pm

There will be an informational meeting for all incoming 9th graders (and transfer students) in Central’s cafeteria at 6:00pm. Coaches will share information and answer questions on the season ahead.

    Summer training sessions:

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week from 1:30pm-3:00pm beginning June 11th at Griffin Stadium. There are no trainings over the Fourth of July week or during Captain's practices (beginning July 30th). These optional summer workout sessions are run by Central coaches or captains and involve conditioning, technical training, and games.

Central Soccer Camp for 4-12 year olds July 23rd-27th, 10am-11:30am (at Jimmy Lee)

Central soccer camp is a camp for youth at any skill level in soccer 4-12 years old. Central players (including incoming players) act as the coaches in this camp and help grow the sport in the neighborhood and city. This is a great opportunity for Central soccer players to share their knowledge and love of soccer with kids in St. Paul. The campers learn to love soccer and look up to the Central players as role models. If you know any kids who might be interested please have them contact the Oxford Community Center to sign-up.

    Captain's Practices: July 30th - August 3rd 9-11am  and August 6th - August 10th 9-11am at Griffin Stadium.

Captain’s practices are important pre-season training sessions run by the 2018 captains (Abby Celander, Mae Guetschow, Reenie Sullivan, and Lydia Wilkie). Players will work on conditioning and game preparation for the season. This is a great opportunity for incoming players to develop relationships with their soon-to-be teammates and classmates. The captains and returning players make everyone feel welcome and part of the Central soccer community.

    Official Practice Begins/Team Tryouts/Two-a-Days August 13th 9-11:30am and 1-2:30pm.

Tryouts are the first three days of two-a-days practice – teams are then selected and begin training.

    First Game August 23rd

Central soccer will play their first games on Thursday night against Tartan at home.

The game and practice schedule will be available here:
