Second Grade Social Studies

  • Students need to fill out a rule that they have at home on a note card. Parents' homework is to write their consequence of they so not follow the rule.

Authority or Power

  • When someone has the authority to make decisions do they take it too far sometimes? Does their authority turn into a position to gain power over individuals? Maybe we should ask the Cat in the Hat. Does he take his authority a bit too far? Does Carlos K. Krinklebein the fish try to use his authority to get rid of the Cat in the Hat? You decide.

Bunny Money

  • In this lesson, students listen to the story of Ruby and Max, two bunnies that go shopping and make many spending decisions. Students are introduced to short-term and long-term savings goals to help them save for goods they want in the future. After a goal-sorting activity, students choose and illustrate their own savings goals.
