    Announcements for Thursday, November 15, 2018

    K-Pop Club is a new club starting Friday, November 9th. The club will meet every Friday from 2:15-3:15 pm in room 0159 (which is in the link). There will be snacks, we will watch k-dramas, listen to k-pop and so much more.

    9th Graders, if you are interested in TRIO Upward Bound, please turn in your application by November 21st. If you need any forms, please stop by the CCRC.

    Who are you thankful for? Student Council will be selling turkey grams at both lunches on Monday, November 12th through Thursday, November 15th. Turkey grams are 25¢ and free to send to teachers and staff. Turkey grams will be delivered period 7 on Tuesday, November 20th so please know the period 7 of the person you are sending to!

    Friday is Student Night at the Riveters Hockey game! All students receive free admission with their student id. The puck drops at the West St. Paul arena at 5:00pm for JV followed by Varsity at 7:00pm. Come cheer on your Highland Park players as they take on the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears.

    Come submit an article for Highland’s very own science journal, The Highland Nucleus. You can email thehighlandnucleus@gmail.com to submit your articles or for further questions! Visiting thehighlandnucleus.weebly.com can also help you learn more about how to write articles if you’re looking to submit! It’s a chance for you to become a published writer, and learn more about science. All are welcome to submit. We look forward to seeing your submissions! The deadline is November 28th.

    Boys’ basketball and wrestling starts Monday, November 19. All interested athletes turn in your registration material to the Athletic Office ASAP.

    Hey Scotties! Speech season is starting and our info session is tomorrow after school in 2304 (Corbett/Russell’s room). Come by and learn how to talk good!

    Yearbook deadlines extended for senior quotes and baby ads until December 1st. The most economical price of $70.00 for a yearbook ends this Friday November 16th, so be sure to order today!

    Conspiracy Theory Club will be meeting 2-3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21st in Ms. Shomions room (2401) to discuss the most popular and strange celebrity conspiracies. Come conversate and color with us! Snacks will be provided!

    There will be no Film Club after school today. We will resume our movie appreciation gatherings after the Thanksgiving holiday. Until then, enjoy your long weekends!

    Hey Highland, do you want to learn to knit? Come to the Highland Park knitting club. We are going to be making hats and donating them to the homeless. This is a great service project. We have materials for you to use. If you have your own materials, then you can bring them too. We meet every Monday from 2:00-3:00 in Mr. Jiles room 3307. Come to knit, or just to say hello! Staff is also welcome!

    At 4:00 this afternoon, Highland Park will be hosting Big Questions, a debate fundraiser. All students are welcome to participate, even those who have never done debate. If you are interested in playing, come see Ms. Becker in room 2214 after school and she will get you registered.

    Attention Book Club: Our new books are here! Stop by the library to pick up your copy of Dream Country. Priority goes to people who attended our last meeting. If you are interested in joining Book Club, see Ms. Rahman - all are welcome!
