Welcome to the Saint Paul Public Schools Facilities Department
The Facilities Department is responsible for the planning, renovation, cleaning, furnishing and maintenance of the district’s 73 buildings, 7.7 million square feet, and over 500 acres of land to provide students, staff and community members with high-quality, safe physical environments. The many duties staff perform include:
Planning, design and construction: Oversees the strategic planning and project management of remodeling, construction and deferred maintenance projects while ensuring projects comply with all district, state and federal standards.
Maintenance, operations and custodial: Provides maintenance, repair and custodial services for the district’s buildings and grounds.
Health, safety and sustainability: Oversees implementation of health and safety standards, regulations and laws; manages waste through recycling and the safe disposal of hazardous materials; and implements energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
Furniture, distribution and moves: Purchases and repurposes furniture for students and staff; and transfers furniture, equipment, resource libraries, computer carts and supplies.
Facilities permitting and rental: Manages the permitting rental process for the public use of district facilities and grounds outside of school hours.
Administrative services: Provides research, data coordination, maintenance, CAD services and administrative support for the Facilities Department.
