From the Careers Home page, use the “Basic Job Search” section to search jobs by keywords. To search all job, do not enter any keywords, select posted “Anytime” and click “Search”.  If you click on the “Advanced Search” button, you can search jobs by location, full or partime, regular or temporary, or using the job opening ID number.

The frequency that new jobs are posted varies. However, with the “My Job Search” agent capability, you will be notified when new positions are posted which meet your defined criteria.  From your Applicant Home page, click on “Job Search” to set up your criteria.  Once you have selected your criteria, click on “Save Search” to name your search and enter the email address you want notifications to go to. Make sure you check the “Use a Job Agent” checkbox to ensure you receive email notifications. You will be notified by email when jobs meeting your criteria become available.

You can submit an online application without applying for a specific job.  From your Applicant Home page, click on “Apply Without Selecting Job”. "  Once your online application has been created, you can go back into the system at any time to search and apply for jobs.  Your application will not be considered unless you apply for specific positions. 

If you are not able to find a job in the job search, it may be that the position is open only to internal candidates (current employees).  If a position is only open to internal candidates, an external applicant is not able to view and apply for the position.  Also, the job search will only find current vacancies.  If the application deadline for the position has passed, the job posting will no longer be available.

There are computer terminals available in the Human Resource Office which you can use to search and view job postings. The Human Resource Office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Most public libraries have internet access which will allow you to create an email account and apply for jobs.

The My Job Search agent allows you to create a job search profile.  Your profile searches for available positions using search criteria which you define.  When a position becomes available which meets your profile, you will be notified by email.

From your Applicant Home page, click on “Job Search” .  You will be able to create a job search using different criteria which you select.  The job search criteria includes location (a specific school or program), keyword (i.e. math), regular or temporary and/or full or part-time.  Once you enter your criteria, click on “Save Search” to name your search and enter the email address you want notifications to go to. Make sure you check the “Use a Job Agent” checkbox to ensure you receive email notifications.  Each evening, the system will search for new positions based on the criteria you selected.  If there is a match, you will be sent an email. 

You can also view the search results by going to your Applicant Home page.  Click on “My Saved Searches” to view a listing of the positions which match your criteria.

To delete My Job Search agent, go to your Applicant Home page and click on “My Saved Searches” .  Click on “Delete Search” .  You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the job search. .  Click “OK” to delete the job search agent.

You can search for jobs without signing on, but prospective employees must register and sign on in order to:

• Save jobs
• Create a job search
• Create an online application
• Submit an application

From the Human Resources Department Careers Homepage, click on the link for "Search Jobs and Apply."  Then click on the link for "Current Employees."  You will be asked to input a Username and Password.  If this if your first time using the system, there are step by step instructions on the page to assist you with the sign on process.

Once you have signed on, click on "Change Password" to reset your password.

You will be asked to enter your employee ID number.  An email will be sent to you immediately with a random password which you can use to sign on to the system. Once you have signed on, you will be asked to change your password.

Use the following guidelines to save time and help you navigate smoothly through the application process:

• Close other browser windows and open a new browser window.
• Turn off active pop-up blockers.
• Use the Previous and Next buttons or navigation links to move about the site. Avoid using the Back and Forward arrows if possible.

For prospective employees only. During the registration process, you enter an email address and a password - both fields are case sensitive.  The email address can not be changed. Each time you login to the system, you will need to enter this information exactly the same way as when you created your application.

We strongly encourage our applicants to submit an online employment application. This permits faster and more efficient processing of your application.  In addition, you can attach a resume or other documents to your application and you will have the ability to view applications you have submitted online.

If this was your first time on our site as a registered visitor, the system will not "remember" you unless you have already successfully submitted a resume to our site.

Yes, even if you do not have a resume, you can still fill out the online application and apply for positions.  On the first page of online application, select “Apply without using a resume”  You will then be able to fill out the remainder of the online application and apply for jobs.

You have the following options:

1. Upload a New Resume: You will be able to upload a resume from your hard drive. Valid file extensions are: ".docx", ".txt", ".rtf", and ".pdf".
2. Copy and Paste Resume Text: You will be able to copy text from a document and paste it into the online application. Type CTRL-V, or right click - "paste" in order to paste the text you have copied. There is not a "paste" button on the page.
3. Apply without using a Resume: After selecting this option, click "Continue" to begin the application process. This performs the same function as a resume.
4. Use an Existing Resume: If you have applied in the past, you can select a resume you have submitted in the past from your profile.

Each time you apply for a job, we ask if you would like to submit a resume because your resume may have changed since the last time you applied. We want to have the most recent information about you so that we can better match your skills to our needs.

Additionally, you are taken through a series of sections with each online application so you have the opportunity to change your information. If you have no changes to make, simply click “Submit” to progress to the end of the application. Then click "Submit" to finalize your application.

The time may vary depending upon your internet connection and the amount of information you include in your application.  It is to your advantage to complete the information in as many fields as possible as Human Resources uses this information to determine your qualifications for positions.  It is also recommended to have all of your paperwork together before starting the online application.  However, you have the option to save your application partially finished and return at a later time to complete and submit. You must complete and submit your application in order to be considered for positions. A saved application will not be considered.

Our system allows you to save a partially finished application by clicking on the “Save” button.

Yes, if you are attaching a resume, you are still required to complete the online application.  There are a number of sections of the online application which you will be required to complete in order to submit your application.  Please do not list "see resume" for the education and/or experience pages.

The online application is the method to apply for positions with Saint Paul Public Schools.  It is not necessary to provide a hard copy of your application or resume to Human Resources.

In general, if you do not apply for jobs, your application will not be considered further.  Human Resources may access your application if you are a licensed teacher and we are looking for applicants with a particular licensure area.

You can submit an application for any number of positions for which you are interested and qualified.  From the Careers Home page, use the “Basic Job Search” or “Advanced Search” section to search for jobs. Check the boxes in the Select column for the jobs you wish to apply for and click on “Apply for Selected Jobs”. as many positions as you wish.

Your browser's cache stores the contents of all the Web pages that you have visited during a session. In some cases the cache can cause the browser to behave abnormally.

Pop-up blockers will prevent you from opening windows on the Career site. We suggest that you disable blockers when you access the site.

1. Go to:  Tools, internet options, security, then click on custom, scroll down to find downloads, (just that word only) choose the option of “Enable”.
2. Apply, and then click o.k.

2. UN-click the box that says “Block Pop-Up Windows 

To prevent lost of data entry, you should perform a task at least once every 18 minutes. Leaving your screen unattended for over 18 minutes will result in a timeout. It’s a good idea to gather all needed paperwork before you begin the application process.

Close all browser windows and open a new window.

For security purposes, be sure to sign off when you have completed all work on the Career site.
