PAR Support

The Peer Assistance and Review program is based on the award-winning Toledo Plan out of Toledo, Ohio that has been in place since 1981. The St. Paul Public School District, along with the St. Paul Federation of Teachers, negotiated this induction framework as part of the 2009-2011 teacher labor agreement. From the inception of the program the PAR team has supported around 150+ probationary and tenured educators a year.

The purpose of the PAR program is to support the professional growth of SPPS teachers. The primary role of the PAR Educator is to enhance and habituate self-directed learning through coaching, as well as collaborating, and consulting.

This year, 11 full-time PAR Educators will be available to support tenure-track teachers.
