Early Warning
Access is available for specific SPPS staff user groups based on job title. The Early Warning tool provides staff with access to an interactive dashboard tool within Infinite Campus.
Use the documentation from Infinite Campus and the Early Warning Study Guide for help to understand each screen and feature within the tool. The information below provides general information from Infinite Campus.
What is the Early Warning Tool? Campus Video: Understand Early Warning (3 min)
Early Warning is a dropout prevention tool that automatically discovers statistical relationships between educational records and enrollment outcomes. Early Warning uses these evidence-based risk factors to estimate each student's likelihood of a positive enrollment outcome (matriculation or graduation) versus a negative enrollment outcome, such as dropping out of school.
-
Models data in comparison to other students
-
Updates as data is entered into Campus.
-
Learns from the past, which information and combinations correlate to school drop-out.
-
Reports a single GRAD score as a number from 50-150.
What is the GRAD Score? Campus Video: Understanding GRAD Score (4 min)
The Graduation Related Analytic Data (GRAD) score summarizes a student’s educational record with a single number to indicate their likelihood of promotion to the next grade level. GRAD scores measure factors predictive of dropping out of school and factors indicative of a student's persistence to the next grade level or to graduation.
A higher number indicates the student has few risk factors and shares more positive factors with past students who persisted to graduation. New students (without enough information) will have an uncertain GRAD Score.
What data types are included?
-
-
Attendance - the student's total attendance data (absences and tardies), total percent in attendance, and chronic absenteeism. This also includes data from Check-in and Check-out from the new workflow package.
-
Behavior - the student's total number of behavior incidents and suspensions.
-
Curriculum - the student's transcript information and grades (including in-progress). From the academic planner, on-track status and total credits remaining.
-
Stability - the total number of years the student has been enrolled at the selected school, how long the student has been enrolled in the district, how long the student has lived at the current address, the student's overall number of addresses, the enrollment status, and the number of portal logins.
-
How can staff use Early Warning? Campus Video: Analyzing Students’ Data (7 min)
