Requests and Rosters

1. The Requests and Rosters tool is geared toward making mass changes (additions and deletions) to rosters, and for that reason, using this tool after the school year should be done with great caution. 

2. Once the school year begins, use the Walk-in Scheduler as the primary scheduling tool, especially when:

            a. Rostering new student(s).

            b. Making schedule changes for one or a few students (moving to a different section, adjusting start dates, etc).

3. Always think first about what you want to do!

           a. Double-check check you are in the correct year, school, calendar, and schedule before starting any work.

           b. After completing a task, check your work before moving on to the next scheduling task. If you make a mistake, reach out to your Campus Support Team for assistance.

Batch Edit: To make changes for a selected or filtered group of students or courses.

Course: A course is a “subject of study.” This is different than a section (see below.)

Section: A specific classroom group of students and a teacher.

Max Seats: maximum # of students who can be assigned to a section.

Overload Section: adding more students than the max seats (requires the Overload Sections tool).

Roster: Adding or removing students to/from a section

Roster Start Date: The date a student will begin attending a course. This needs to be accurate for students starting after the beginning of the school year.

Roster End Date: The last day a student will be expected to attend a course.

Student Course Request: Indication that a student is required to take a course.

Unsatisfied Request: An unmet course request, meaning the student is not scheduled for the course yet.

Scheduling Team: Also called a scheduling group, a cohort of students to be scheduled in similar courses during the day.
