Virtual community engagement meetings will be held on Zoom during the month of February in English, Spanish, Hmong, Karen and Somali. All stakeholders are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting that works best for you. The content of each meeting will be the same, so you only need to attend one.

Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) is embarking on the critical work of developing its next Strategic Plan, a roadmap that will guide our priorities, investments and focus areas for years to come. To ensure this plan reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of our community, we are seeking a balanced representation of 15-25 adults and 10-15 high school students from across the SPPS School District and business/community partners to join our Strategic Plan Advisory Taskforce.

What will members of the taskforce do?

Members of the Strategic Plan Advisory Taskforce will serve in an advisory role. The taskforce will inform the strategic plan process and provide input to district leadership. The Superintendent will present the final plan to the Board for adoption.

Members will review and analyze community input, examine data on student outcomes and district needs, discuss strategic priorities and trade-offs, and advise on goals, objectives, and success metrics. The taskforce ensures diverse perspectives—from students, families, staff and community partners—inform the development of the district's strategic direction for 2026-2033.

Who should apply for the taskforce?

The ideal taskforce member will have:

A firm commitment to integrating equity into all decisions and recommendations.
A dedication to the collective success of Saint Paul Public Schools.
A shared commitment to the success of all students.
Strong experience with collaboration, problem-solving and continuous learning.
The ability to attend a regular series of meetings (e.g., approximately 7-10 meetings, 38-40 hours) between February and July 2026. The first meetings will be on February 5-6 in the evening. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided at each in-person meeting.
Community networks to actively & intentionally gather input and share updates about the planning process.

Taskforce members will receive a stipend; $500 for adults; $300 for students. SPPS staff who are paid hourly will receive their hourly non-instructional rate.
