A user phone is a device or soft client assigned to a specific person. All user phones, regardless of the individual's location, have a unique site code of "74". This "74" prefix is included in their 6-digit extension.
External Calls:
External calls are placed the same way you would on a home or cell phone; dial the 10-digit number. You no longer need to press 9 to make an external call when using a Zoom device or soft phone.
Common calling and extension related questions:
Q: What happens if my phone rings at the wrong location?
A: Submit a support request to Technology Services if you notice incorrect call routing.
Q: Why does my phone show a different caller ID or extension?
A: If dialing from a physical phone that is a member of a shared line, make sure to select the line that you want your caller ID to reflect.
Q: Can multiple people share the same extension?
A: No. Each staff member is assigned a unique extension and Zoom Phone profile to avoid routing conflicts. Multiple users can be added to a shared line group for shared responsibilities.
