6368 Out-of-State Travel
6368 - Out-of State Travel
Account/Object Code: 6368
Authorization: Pre-approval from MDE and the District is required
When workshops and conferences fit into a school’s larger professional development plan that is tied to their school improvement plan (SCIP), Title I funds may be used to cover the costs of attendance at a conference that takes place outside of Minnesota. All professional development activities should relate to core subject areas and must satisfy the definition of professional development in ESEA Title I.
Workshops and conferences outside of Minnesota should be coded to 6368. This would cover the cost of registration, airfare, hotels and meals.
Procedure:
- Complete the Out-of-State Permission Form and send it to the director of Title programs. The form will then be sent to MDE for approval of the out-of-state travel. Once MDE has given their approval, the director will contact you and then you can proceed with the other travel process.
- Complete the district Travel Authorization Request and follow all district travel procedures from this point.
