Mental Health & Wellness
What is Mental Health and Wellness?
Mental Health and Wellness refers to the continuum of emotional supports available to students and staff. Services on the continuum range from proactive preventative work (Tier 1), to individual and group counseling provided by SPPS support staff (school counselors and school social workers, Tier 2), to the individual therapeutic supports provided by co-located mental health providers (Tier 3). It also includes creating a calm, safe learning environment for students and staff.
Some mental health interventions used in SPPS include:
- Cognitive Behavior Intervention for Trauma in Schools (C-BITS)
- Coping Cat
- Community Mental Health Partners: Contact Andrew Klopp (andrew.klopp@spps.org) for more information
