This program partners with the SPPS Department of Indian Education and the Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul's Department of Indian Work to immerse students in Native American history, heritage, arts and language. Participants learn from Indigenous teachers and leaders. Included in this program are culturally specific enriching field trips, guest speakers, healthy eating, lacrosse, arts and crafts, daily smudging and indigenous games. The program also partners with reading tutors to offer free additional support. Students will gain a deep appreciation for their heritage and pride in their culture, which has a strong connection to success in academics.
