Volunteer

Whether you are a parent, community member or business Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) has opportunities for you to be involved in our district.

Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application and Criminal Background Check (CBC) BEFORE they begin their volunteer service with SPPS (to be renewed on an annual basis).

Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) has established this process for the following reasons:

  1. The District has a responsibility to protect students and staff from unnecessary risks.
  2. The District has a responsibility to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.
  3. The District has a need to protect the reputation of the institution as a body charged with the care of children.

All volunteer background checks are initiated by the school/department and will be processed  through MRI/Trusted Employees. The results will be reported to the requesting school or  department.

Step 1: SPPS Volunteer Application

Step 2: Volunteer Criminal Background Check (CBC)

If you have a specific school you wish to volunteer at, contact the school directly.
