Career and Technical Education (CTE) - College and Career Ready!
-
On behalf of the joint Minnesota State and Minnesota Department of Education career and technical education staff,
“Celebrate CTE Month!”
Throughout the month of February, we encourage you to celebrate the amazing achievements and contributions that CTE programs have made in preparing students for high-wage, high-skill, and in-demand occupations. We recognize the administrators, teachers, faculty, counselors, advisors, business and industry partners, parents, community organizations and other key influencers for the time, energy, and efforts to help students explore, select and complete CTE programs and programs of study.
What is CTE? Career and technical education (CTE) is the educational foundation for many, many of our essential, front-line workers in our current pandemic. CTE provides quality, relevant, rigorous educational programming that prepares learners for high-wage, high-skill and in-demand careers for today and into the future.
Investments in CTE continue to play an integral role in strengthening the American economy. By increasing student engagement, helping students apply core academic skills, and meeting employer needs, CTE programs can generate the knowledge and innovation that will support and spark economic growth.
