Saint Paul Public Schools Community Education provides afterschool learning opportunities for children at Saint Paul Public Elementary Schools in the city of Saint Paul. This year, we are back to in-person afterschool classes one day a week at various SPPS schools. Our programs are safe, supportive, engaging and reflective, and include a wide variety of subjects including: foreign languages, dance, LEGO engineering, theatre, art and much more.
How it works
- Classes seasonally in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Seasons run 6-10 weeks.
- Classes typically last one hour.
- Registration is open to the public seasonally.
- Any child, of the correct age, can register for a St. Paul Community Education class.

Program Information
Please note SPPS requires masks for all people in a school setting (ages 2 and older), including all Community Education teachers, staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, unless they have a qualifying exemption. Registration and Participation Information
Registration closes, for all after-school classes, the day before the class starts. Many classes fill before the registration deadline – register early!
15% discount for youth who qualify for free or reduced lunch
A split payment option is available for all classes costing over $100.
For the safety of all participants, registration for afterschool programs closes the day before a class starts.
Some classes fill very quickly – register early!
Class start/end information
Classes take place only on days school is in session. Transportation is not provided.
Participants meet in the cafeteria at the end of the school-day for snack.
Pick-up is in the St. Anthony Park Elementary Main Entrance at 3:10.
Following class, youth can be: promptly picked up, walk home, or transition to another program. Site staff check off youth at departure. If C.E. should be aware of an issue that could result in an unsafe pick-up situation, please call our office at 651-767-8179.
