Medications

  • At some point during their academic career, students may need to take medication during the school day. Saint Paul Public Schools require written parental authorization for any medication during the school day and health care provider authorization is required for medication taken for more than 2 weeks. In cases where medication is prescribed for short-term use and required to be administered 3 times daily, students are encouraged not to bring the medication to school but to instead take their dose upon returning home in the afternoon.

Self-carry agreements are available to students in secondary school and require signature from parent/guardian, student, and the prescribing health care provider.
