Trabajadora Social Escolar / School Social Worker
I am so honored and pleased to be a part of Riverview's community!
I am licensed to practice social work through the state of Minnesota, and school social work through the Minnesota Department of Education. I have worked for Saint Paul Public Schools since 1999.
School social workers are a link between the school, families, and the community and provide mental health services to students to support academic growth and success. As Riverview Elementary's school social worker, I provide many services: crisis intervention, group or individual social skills work, case management of students who receive special education services, connecting families to important resources, collaborating with teachers and staff to create positive interventions for students, and working closely with students on a daily basis.
If you have questions regarding the mental health of your child, community resources for your child or family, special education, behavioral interventions, or parenting support relating to behavior or education - please contact me!
My professional interests include the use of art therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness in the school setting, and trauma informed care. I am learning to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
I enjoy knitting, practicing mindfulness, reading, visiting the North Shore, spending time with my husband and son, and hanging out with friends and extended family.
