BA Elementary Education Primary Level Montessori

Ms. Michele Lachowitzer

Welcome to my page!  My name is Michele Lachowitzer and I am excited to be a part of the Montessori Children's House at Crossroads.

I earned a BA in Elementary Education with a focus on natural science at Saint Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In 2016, I decided to follow my dream to teach in a Montessori classroom. I completed my certification at Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston, Illinois and am a certified Montessori Primary Level Guide for children ages 3-6.

It is my pleasure to work with children ages 4-6 (prek and kindergarten) in the Children's House. It is a joy to watch the children interact with each other with a spirit of love and excitement.  Here, the child is seen as capable, competent and curious. We follow the child's interests and provide lessons that build on their individual skill levels.  The children have the opportunity to learn independence as they choose work with Montessori materials in the areas of Practical Life (life skills), Sensorial (exploration of the senses), Math, Language and Cultural Studies (science, geography, history). Our goal is to create a learning community where everyone shares their thinking and helps one another.

 A little bit about me:

Other favorite things: knitting, making earrings, going to the cabin, yoga, time with family and friends
