Teaching Philosophy
I view teaching as an opportunity to enrich the lives of children. Every child has the ability to learn if placed in a nurturing environment where learning experiences engage students, meet their collective and individual learning needs and assist them in reaching or exceeding their goals. I want all children to be successful, enjoy the process of learning, and develop the skills needed to become lifelong learners.
I believe in:
-
providing a warm and positive classroom atmosphere
-
fostering enthusiasm for learning
-
treating each child as a valued and unique individual
-
using positive behavior management techniques
-
promoting cooperation, respect, self-esteem, and self-control
-
helping children develop as caring, self-assured, responsible people
-
encouraging creativity and individualism
-
helping children develop an awareness, understanding, and appreciation
of the rich diversity in our society
-
treating parents as partners in the education process
