Miss Rhea Moen

A little bit about Miss. Moen:

Welcome Farnsworth Families! My name is Rhea Moen. I am so honored to be a part of Farnsworth community. Prior to Farnsworth, I was a 6th and a 2nd grade teacher at Obama Elementary in St. Paul. At Farnsworth I have taught grades 3rd and 4th. I currently teach courses for the Saint Paul Federation of Educators Union as well. This will be my 10th year with SPPS. My undergraduate degree was through Minnesota State University, Mankato. My graduate degree was completed through Grand Canyon State University in Literacy Instruction. I am currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Educational Leadership with my Principal's License.

I have a son that is also a part of St. Paul Public Schools as an 8th grade student at Highland Park Middle School. He is truly gifted in visual arts; including sketching and drawing. He is also a Black belt in Tae Kwon Do. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My son and I also enjoy trying out new resturants, traveling, and going on hikes, running or biking around the lakes. I have a passion for racial equity and feel honored to be involved in the community as active ally in the Black Lives Matter movement. I am passionate about about dancing and coaching dance. I worked for the Vikings organization for the past 13 years.

I am excited to be in a new role this year at Farnsworth as the Academic Intervention Teacher and the SAT Team Lead. Here is to a new year of learning and growing together.

Sincerely,

Miss. Moen
