    Mole House

Teaching is something that I love to do. I love that I’m paid to be a science nerd so being a science teacher at Washington Tech Magnet is a dream job. This is my 19th year of teaching high school science. I attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated from Augsburg College. I received my teaching credentials from University of Minnesota - Mankato and have been obtaining graduate credits from Hamline University. My first teaching position was at the Academy of Holy Angels where I taught for 10 years. I left to become a stay-at-home dad for my two kids who were 4 and 1 at the time. In 2008, I taught for a year at St. Matthew’s Middle School and in 2009, I taught for four years at Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School. In 2013, I moved to Eastview High School and this past year, I moved to Washington Tech Magnet. I have taught Biology, Environmental Science, Physical Science, and Chemistry.

I also have 25 years of volleyball coaching experience coaching at Academy of Holy Angels, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, and Eastview as well as many Junior Olympic Clubs in the area. I’ve also been an assistant at Augsburg and U Minn Mankato, and was the manager of the team at Wisconsin where in 1990, our team was the Big Ten Champions, the first time in school history.

I have two children, Henry, who is 14 and a freshman at Eagan High School, and Eleanor, who is 11 and in sixth grade at Friendly Hills Middle School in Mendota Heights. I enjoy backpacking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and camping.
