About the Charities

  • SPPS makes it easy for you to donate to six charitable organizations that support our community. Click on each of the names below to learn more. You can give to any 501(c)(3) organization (learn how). 

CHARITIES REVIEW COUNCIL

  • Our campaign follows the guidelines and practices set forth by the Charities Review Council, an independent organization that serves as a resource for people who make contributions to support charities.

  • Donate

    Community Health Charities

    $2 per pay period provides a welcome care package to a recently diagnosed juvenile arthritis family from the Upper Midwest Region Arthritis Foundation.

     

    $3 per pay period provides a comfortable, private space for for women with ovarian cancer to meet from the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.

     

    $5 per pay period provides 12 families of newborn babies in intensive care with information and support to ease their fears and uncertainty from the March of Dimes.

     

    $20 per pay period provides emergency financial assistance to families in crisis, helping to pay for things like utility bills and mortgages when community recourses fall short from the Minnesota Chapter of the ALS Association.

    Community Health Charities

    $2 per pay period purchases energy efficient light bulbs for low-income electric utility customers through Energy CENTS Coalition.

     

    $3 per pay period provides 10 youth the opportunity to participate in an eco-education activity teaching them about their impact on the environment through YouthCARE.

     

    $5 per pay period provides a family of six with free admission to a play or musical on the Mixed Blood stage through Mixed Blood Theatre.

     

    $10 per pay period provides a legal review for homebuyers to ensure their understanding of closing documents for the purchase of an affordable home through Rondo Community Land Trust.

     

    $20 per pay period provides an uninsured woman with 10 years of highly effective pregnancy prevention through Family Tree Clinic.

    Greater Twin Cities United Way

    $3 per pay period provides six hours of coordination services to help people with disabilities and their caregivers navigate health care and support programs.

     

    $5 per pay period provides 25 nutritious meals for a family of four.

     

    $10 per pay period provides 10 seniors with 10 rides to the doctor’s office.

     

    $20 per pay period provides two students with a new book of their own each week through the school year to increase reading skills and build home libraries.

    Minnesota Environmental Fund

    $1 per pay period pays for worms for a full year of demonstrations with a worm composting bin.

     

    $2 per pay period provides a US Coast Guard approved life jacket so a person can have their first canoe experience.

     

    $3 per pay period provides a day of environmental education for 20 middle school children.

     

    $5 per pay period provides a community Watershed Workshop packed with information about lawn and garden care, composting, rain gardens and rain barrels, native landscaping, car care, and other topics that raise awareness of steps you can take to protect and restore the Mississippi River and its watershed.

     

    $10 per pay period provides a scholarship for a 5-day BWCA canoe trip.

    Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless

    $3 per pay period provides 50 nutritious meals for people at an on-site food program served by dedicated volunteers offering a helping hand and hope.

     

    $5 per pay period provides five elementary school children with back packs filled with school supplies- so important for the students who want to fit in at school and do well!

     

    $10 per pay period provides more than 2,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables at one of Minnesota’s Feeding America food banks.

     

    $20 per pay period provides beds and bedding for a family of five staying at an emergency shelter.

    $3 per pay period provides 50 nutritious meals for people at an on-site food program served by dedicated volunteers offering a helping hand and hope.
