Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Amelia Feest
Hello! My name is Amelia Feest, I am teaching intermediate algebra and geometry for the second year at Como. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2015 with a bachelors degree in mathematics and continued my education in grad school studying mathematics education. I moved up to Minnesota from Madison, Wisconsin right after high school for college.
If you ever need to contact me, please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In Intermediate Algebra we will cover algebraic topics such as graphing linear equations, factoring expressions, using the quadratic formula, and solving systems of equations. This course is typically a class taken by freshmen, and it is a required course to graduate. Students in Intermediate Algebra are allowed and encouraged to retake tests to increase their grades and gain a better understanding of the topics.
In Geometry we will be covering topics such as congruence theorems, triangle trigonometry, spatial reasoning, and finding volumes and areas of various shapes. Geometry is a required course to graduate in Saint Paul Public Schools. Students in this course are allowed and encouraged to retake tests to increase their grades and gain a better understanding of the concepts.
In both Algebra and Geometry, all of our assignments are posted to schoology daily. That is also where you would find your student's most up to date grade and get information on what assignments might be missing. I am available after school most days (usually M,W,Th,F) and encourage students to stay after with me to get extra help on anything they are struggling with. I am excited to continue working with your student throughout the 2018/19 schoolyear!
