If your student was placed after this initial date, or if you missed the first round of auditions, your student should plan to audition immediately following the first day of school. This will take about 45-60 minutes.

Enrollment for the current school year: Please contact the SPPS Placement Center: 651-632-3760.

    what it isn’t
This is not to determine whether or not you “get in” to Creative Arts Secondary School. If you are going through this process, you have already been placed at our school. This process allows us to determine the appropriate placement in your arts area that matches your interest, skills, and abilities in that area.

    what it is
All students will prepare and present a sample of their work that they feel shows their best work and demonstrates their skills and interest in their art area.

All students will prepare and bring with them a written statement about their experience and learning goals.

All students will be asked to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a specific way at their audition as well.

Finally, all students will participate in an interview with teachers about their background, experience, and creative goals for attending Creative Arts.

See the PDF for your preferred discipline for more specific requirements.

Enrollment for the current school year: Once you are notified of your placement, you must contact Creative Arts to set up an enrollment meeting. Currently, auditions and enrollment meetings are arranged for Tuesdays and Thursdays. You should be prepared to audition as part of this meeting. Following the audition and interview, the student and parent or guardian will meet with a counselor to build a class schedule.
