Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) and the University of St. Thomas are extremely excited about our Urban Teacher Residency (SUTR) program!
Saint Paul Public Schools Urban Teacher Residency program is a unique partnership between SPPS and the University of St. Thomas. District staff and all others who are interested in pursuing a teaching career now have a new, accelerated pathway.
This program aims to recruit, prepare and retain highly qualified teachers who share similar life experiences as our diverse student population in SPPS. SUTR provides an affordable, accelerated program to earn a Minnesota teaching license and master’s degree in 15 months from the University of St. Thomas.
*Licenses offered: Elementary Education, ABS (Special Education) **Math Grades 5-12 in 2020 and Middle School Science 2021; if enough qualified participants applies.
