The Human Resources Department serves more than 6,000 Saint Paul Public Schools employees, substitute teachers, prospective employees and dedicated individuals working on behalf of Saint Paul students. It is our mission to provide strategic Human Resource services for organizational excellence in Saint Paul Public Schools toward the creation of a premiere education for all. To do this, we:

Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) rejected a proposal by the Saint Paul Federation of Educators (SPFE) and Minnesota Teamsters 320 that would have cost the district $3.6 million in new healthcare contributions in exchange for the unions suspending their push to break a health insurance contract with HealthPartners.

Update Regarding Health Insurance for SPPS Employees
In May, the Saint Paul Federation of Educators (SPFE) and Teamsters Local 320 voted to transition from Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) current healthcare provider, Health Partners, to the state’s Public Employees Insurance Program (PEIP). SPFE has expressed its desire that this change go into effect on January 1, 2020, with an open enrollment process this fall.
