About the Teacher
Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Angela Denow
Hello! My name is Angela Denow. I am the school counselor for all Cherokee Heights students. This is my first year as the full-time counselor at Cherokee, but my second year here in the building.
I completed my undergraduate studies at University of Minnesota and my graduate studies at University of Wisconsin – River Falls. I enjoy reading, crafting, and spending time with my family, including my dog, Berkeley.
I am very excited to have the privilege to work with all of our wonderful Cherokee students, families and staff. I am here to be a counselor for all members of our Cherokee family – if you are a parent/guardian, teacher, student, or other staff member, please know that I am here for you!
Here are a few examples (this list could truly go on forever) of the topics that can be discussed during counseling:
- Changing family dynamics (example: combining families)
- Strong emotions (sad, mad, disappointed, etc.)
- Death or loss
- Academic struggles
- Transition to middle school
- College and/or post-secondary options
