Mrs. Holbrook

Welcome to our classroom!

My name is Barbara Holbrook, and I am excited to be joining the Autism team at St. Paul Music Academy for the 2017/2018 school year.  This year, I will be teaching 2nd and 3rd graders, along with Ms. April and Mr. Brady.  While I am new to SPMA, I am not new to teaching.  This will be my 14th year! I have worked as a school counselor, EBD teacher, SLD and ASD teacher.

This year, I strive to create a positive, structured, classroom that helps your child succeed at school.  My goal is for every student to feel safe and welcomed in our community, and to grow socially and academically to the best of their ability.  We will be working on language and communication, social skills, reading, math, and writing, as well as working in collaboration with our Occupational Therapist and Speech Language Pathologist here at SPMA to best meet your child's needs.  Most students will spend some time (with support) in the general education classroom daily as well, for things such as breakfast, morning meeting, music, gym, science, reading, or math.

I recently moved back to Minnesota from Phoenix, Arizona, where I have been for the past 11 years.  When I'm not teaching, I am busy with my 3 year old son and Kindergarten daughter, my husband, and enjoying the wonderful changes of the seasons I have missed all these years in Arizona!

I welcome you to email or call with any questions or information you want me to know - here's to a great year!
