Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Jenny Davis
Thank you for visiting my page! I am very excited to serve the Saint Paul Music Academy community as a Literacy interventionist during the 2018-19 school year. This is my 21st year in the education profession, and it is my second year working for Saint Paul Public Schools.
I earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, an M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and an Ed.S. in Educational Administration degree from the University of St. Thomas. I am licensed to teach Pre-Kindergarten, Spanish (Grades 1-6), and Elementary Education (Grades K-6). I also have a K-12 Principal license.
During my 20 years as an educator, I have had a variety of teaching experiences. My previous positions include roles as a classroom teacher (Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3), assisted services teacher, instructional assistant/administrative intern, reading specialist, integration enrichment teacher, Q-Comp peer leader, Literacy/RtI Lead teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, and Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) Lead teacher. In addition, I have teaching experience at the higher education level at Bemidji State University, Inver Hills Community College, Concordia University-St. Paul, and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
I grew up in Stevens Point, WI, and currently live in Rosemount, MN, with my husband, Erik, and my two sons, Wyatt (Age 13) and Grady (Age 9). We have two cats, a dog, and a leopard gecko. We enjoy going to concerts, spending time at our family's cabin in Grand Rapids, MN, and attending youth and professional sports events. Our favorite teams are the Minnesota Wild and the Minnesota Twins.
I am passionate about teaching Literacy and fostering students’ identities as readers, writers, and thinkers. I look forward to meeting and working with all of the students, families, and staff members of SPMA!
