Dear Horace Mann families,
I am extremely excited to be embarking on my third year as a Kindergarten teacher at Horace Mann School!
I received my education at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin where I was a camp counselor at YMCA Camp St. Croix for many years. I love getting outdoors and going hiking, fishing, and sightseeing, as well as playing hockey and basketball when I get the opportunity.I am a big fan of the Wild and the Vikings!
I am happy to be a member of such a supportive, professional and driven group of educators at Horace Mann. I srtive to make sure each and every one of my students believes in themselves, is willing to make mistakes and learn from them, and fosters a love for school in general. I hope to send my students off to first grade with confidence in their abilities and enthusiasm fo learning.
I am thrilled to be able to work with such an energetic, fun-loving, inquistive and adventurous age of children and helping them begin their journeys as young learners. I believe in empowering each of my students to acheieve their very best, modifying assignments and activities to best suit the needs of each learner, establishing consistent routines and expectations in the classroom, and stressing the importance of developing positive relationships with peers, instructors and other school staff. I like to get my class moving often, playing games and singing songs, experimenting with different learning concepts in a variety of ways, and setting them up to be successfull learners throughout their learning careers. Each of your children can achieve great things, and it is my job to make them realize this potential. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
