    Dear HPMS Families,

We are ready to take registration for Scots After School 2021-22!  Classes begin Monday, October 25.

Unfortunately, we do not have bussing for students at this time.  The district has decided to offer Metro Transit tokens for those who live near a bus route, however.  If you have already submitted a Permission Form, please do so again using the link below to "Continuous Learning Plan Permission Form With Transportation Preference".  SPPS is now requiring this form for families to indicate a method of transportation.  We apologize and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Below you will find descriptions of the classes to be offered in this fall session, the above-mentioned permission form, and a  pdf for you to indicate your student's preference for classes in which to enroll.  Please complete all forms by Wed. Oct 20, although registration will be accepted on an ongoing basis even after programs begin.  Paper copies of registration forms will be available in the next day or two.

Registration forms may be emailed to Robert Gollon at robert.gollon@spps.org or printed and returned to Mr. Gollon in room 1311, Foundations teachers, or to the front office.

    Dear HPMS Families,

Thank you for your interest in and support of Scots After School!   Thank you very much for your patience and understanding as well.  This year, our program launch has been impacted by challenges unique to our times.

Due to a shortage of drivers, there is some uncertainty around the availability of bussing for Scots After School.  Until this has been resolved, the district has postponed any organizational meetings for EDL.  As a result, planning has been put on hold for the moment.  The district has communicated that they have no further information at this time.   There has been no announcement of delaying the Oct. 11 start date, so we may end up doing things very quickly.

Program descriptions and registration for specific learning opportunities will be posted once we have more information, which will allow us to more intentionally staff SAS.  An announcement will be made to all families when this becomes available.

Please continue to check this page for further updates as they become available, and again thank you so much for your support of Scots After School at HPMS!

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Scots After School (SAS) will begin on Monday, October 25, 2021.  Programming takes place Mondays-Thursdays, from 3:10 - 4:50 p.m., with 2 courses occurring each day (one from 3:10 - 4:00 p.m, & the other from 4:00 - 4:50 p.m.) For students who sign up for SAS, a free healthy snack is offered right after school in the cafeteria.  Highland Park Middle School has the largest attended SAS program of all middle schools in SPPS!

Courses are offered in both Monday & Wednesday pairings, and Tuesday & Thursday pairings. For example, a student may take classes that meet only on Mondays & Wednesdays, or a student may sign up for classes that meet only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and, of course, a student may choose to take courses that meet on both Mondays & Wednesdays AND Tuesdays & Thursdays, attending each day SAS is in session (SAS does NOT meet on Fridays). If you qualify for school busing during the school year, you will qualify for school busing for SAS.

Below you will find a sample registration form from last year so you can see some of the programming SAS has to offer.  If you have any questions about SAS you can contact Robert Gollon at robert.gollon@spps.org and he will answer your questions.

(please scroll down for SAS application forms from last year)
