Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Julie MacGregor
September 1st, 2017
My name is Mrs. Julie MacGregor, and I am thrilled to start my first year at Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet as a 2nd grade teacher! Previously I taught for 3 years at Chelsea Heights Elementary School in St. Paul and grades 3-6 for nine years in California.
A little bit about myself: I have a special place in my heart for this district, having grown up in St. Paul and being a proud graduate of the St. Paul Public Schools. I received my undergraduate degree from Bates College in Maine, and then moved to San Francisco, California, where I became interested in teaching while working as an aide for students with a variety of special needs. I have my Master’s in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz. My husband, two children and I moved back to St. Paul in the summer of 2011. In my free time, I love to swim, read, cook, and go to the pool and museums with my family. I adore being a teacher and feel lucky to have found a profession I love.
Communication with family members is very important to me, and I welcome it to get to know students as well as I possibly can. There are many ways to get in touch with me:
- Email me. My email is MrsMacGregorismyteacher@gmail.com. This is my email specifically for family communication. I check my email several times a day and in the evenings. I will gather email addresses over the first few days of school from families, and send out a weekly email about what we are doing in class, any homework your students may have, and alerts about upcoming activities. Please let me know if you do not wish to receive it or would like a paper copy instead.
- Visit after school on Mondays or Wednesdays, and before schools starts by appointment. If you are not available to meet any of these times, please email me or call to set up an appointment so we can discuss any questions or concerns you might have. I am happy to meet at whatever time fits your schedule.
- Call me at Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet!
I am thrilled to have a chance to work with your students and all families! With great expectations, I am looking forward to a happy and exciting year for your student, full of scholarship, hard work, laughs, and growth in many ways.
