Ms. Colamatteo
Hello,
As the ART teacher at Cherokee Heights, the students call me Ms. Terri and/or Ms. Colamatteo. I love working at Cherokee Heights because I live in the neighborhood and love working at a school where I feel I am a part of the children's community as well. The staff are a terrific team as well, and passionate about what we do and why. I have taught art for 28 years at all levels, from pre-kindergarten to high school.
Outside of school, I love hiking, yoga, skiing, birding, gardening, and family. The art I am interested in involves textile arts. Making silk scarves using Japanese tie-dye techniques, weaving rugs and blankets, and embroidery. I have been in many art sales in the past, but now I am focused on art for friends, family and myself.

Art Teaching Philosophy:
Growing and Guiding Greatness through the exploration of art, listening to the child's voice of imagination and seeing the creativity in every child. Celebrate cultures, traditions and a sense of place as a global community.
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." Pablo Picasso
