Katie Nett

Katie is a speech-language pathologist at Como Park Senior High. She grew up in a small, rural town in Illinois, then attended college at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL where she majored in Communication Sciences & Disorders as well as French. She attended graduate school at the University of Iowa & received her Masters in speech-language pathology. She lived in Atlanta, GA for a year, where she completed her speech-language pathology Clinical Fellowship in the Cleft & Craniofacial Department at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She then returned to the midwest & worked as a speech-language pathologist (SLP) at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Finally, she moved to Minnesota, worked for several years as an SLP with Courage Kenny Kids, Allina Health, & then began working as an SLP with Como Park Senior High.

Katie has experience working with children & adults of all ages, with a variety of communication difficulties &/or disorders. She enjoys learning about her students & helping them set & achieve goals. She is passionate about adapting her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual student as well as promoting students' self-empowerment & mental wellness.

Katie's personal interests include music, travel, Minnesota culture, & animals - especially her Siberian forest cat, Herman.
