Mr. Bernard Herberholt
Bernard Herberholt is a teacher in a self-contained classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Battle Creek Elementary.
Bernard received his Masters in Special Education from the University of St. Thomas and holds an Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) teaching license in Minnesota. He received his Bachelors in Communication and Sociology with focus on the topics of mass media, race, and social stratification from the University of Washington, in his hometown of Seattle.
Before coming to teaching, Bernard began a career working alongside adults with intellectual disabilities, holding positions in non-profits in Portland and Seattle. He moved to St. Paul to follow his spouse to her hometown. Bernard did his year of student teaching at Battle Creek Middle School.
Bernard feels that the ASD Program at Battle Creek is a community of skilled, committed professionals and bright students with unique potential.
