Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Eric Jameson
My name is Mr. Jameson. I have been a teacher for 14 years in the St. Paul Public Schools.
This is my 8th year at Battle Creek Middle School. I grew up in Albert Lea, Minnesota and graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1992. I studied History and Political Science at the University of Minnesota and received my Masters in Education from Hamline University in 2012. I have taught many subjects during my career in St. Paul Public Schools, including Current Events, History, Geography, and AVID.
I live in Northeast Minneapolis and have two daughters, an 22-year old who graduted from Central High School and now attends the Universtiy of Minnesota Graduate School, and a six-year old who goes to Waite Park Elementary in Minneapolis. I like to go on long runs, am an avid fan of Minnesota sports teams (T-Wolves, Vikings, Wild, and Twins), and enjoy discussing local, state, and national politics.
American History Class:
7th grade American History focuses on developing students' historical knowledge and skills. Students learn about historical events from the American Civil War through today. 7th grade students at BCMS reenact history through simulations and hands-on learning activities that allow them to experience historical events from America's past. Students will bomb Fort Sumter, hunt buffalo on the wild plains, mine for gold, migrate west, lose all their money in the stock market crash of 1929, participate in a Civil War battle, and many more exciting events. In addition to these activities, students will also develop their ability to critically think about the important events of our nation's past through historical debates and the examination and evaluation of primary historical documents.
