Standards-Based-Grading Exploratory Committee
Saint Paul Public Schools has embarked on a five-year plan to transform how its teachers grade student work: moving from traditional tests and letter grades to grading students according to how well they meet content area standards.
Through a lens of Personalized Learning and in alignment with SPPS Strategic Plan Initiative 3b, focus on eliminating the racial achievement gap, goals of this exploratory committee include: engaging stakeholders in understanding the purpose of a standards-based grading system, creating a curriculum mapping format aligned across content areas, prioritizing standards, and agreeing on grading indicators.
This initial exploratory work is funded through an MDE Grant that extends through June 30th, 2019. Meet the team here.
