Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Leah Junker
Hello! My name is Leah Junker and I am a second grade teacher. This will be my sixth year teaching and first year teaching at Maxfield. I was born and raised in Eagan, MN, where I grew up knowing I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in first grade. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English Language Arts. When living in Madison, WI I enjoyed attending Badger football games, sitting by the lake, and meeting new friends.
Upon graduating, I moved to Arizona and taught first grade for five years. While living in Arizona I enjoyed hiking, sitting by the pool, and being able to spend the majority of my time outside. Following my fifth year of teaching in Arizona, I decided it was time for something new and to be back with family, so I moved back to Minnesota and attended the University of St. Thomas where I received my master’s in special education. During my program, I was a resident in the building here at Maxfield. I feel honored and excited to be able to continue working here this year! When I am not at school, I enjoy running or doing yoga, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family!
