Ms. Chanel Sasse

Welcome to Ms. Sasse's 3/4/5 Virtual Learning classroom! This is my 2nd year teaching at Crossroads and I am excited to welcome families and students to our online learning community. I have high expectations and unconditional positive regard for each student. I focus on building relationships, fostering peace through awareness of our emotions, and giving students tools to define their own success. In our class, students use the hands-on knowledge they gained in E1 to master the concepts behind the manipulatives. I encourage students to use their passions and interests to deepen their learning.

Before becoming a teacher at Crossroads, I worked in the I-Zone and as an intersession teacher, so I have strong ties to our school community. I also spent several years working as a teaching assistant, substitute teacher, after-school literacy coach, and children's librarian. I love watching students get that spark of understanding! When I’m not at Crossroads, I am a graduate student at Hamline University, working on my Master’s of Arts in Teaching. I also have a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Knox College. I enjoy playing my banjo-ukelele, singing, traveling, making collage art, visiting family and friends, listening to podcasts, reading, yoga, dancing, and taking long walks.
