My name is Keriann German and I am honored to join the Galtier community as your child's first grade teacher! I have worked in child care and education for most of my adult life and recently completed my Master's degree in Elementary Education at the University of St. Thomas as part of the SUTR (St. Paul Urban Teacher Residency) program.
It is my goal as a teacher to create a collaborative classroom community where every student feels welcomed, respected and celebrated for who they are. I want our classroom to be a warm, fun and engaging learning space where students are excited to share their ideas, take risks, and learn new things. We will work together to create meaningful learning experiences as we learn and grow both as individuals and as a part of a supportive first grade team.
I went to school in central Massachusetts where I danced, played soccer and ran track. Growing up in New England, I spent most of my childhood outdoors and, as a result I love hiking, camping, going to the beach and exploring the great outdoors. I moved to Minnesota in 1998 and after 20 years here, I now consider the Twin Cities my home. In my free time, I love going to the theater, listening to live music and visiting new places with my son, Brady.
I am excited for a great school year. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have as we move through the school year together.
I promise you every day your child will learn something. Some days they will bring it home in their hands. Some days they will bring it home in their heads, and some days they will bring it home in their hearts.
