Ms. Carol Fish
Ms. Fish began teaching at Como Elementary in the 2019-2020 school year. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the Uiversity of Minnesota with a minor in Science. She earned a Master's Degree in Special Education from Bethel University with certificates in Specific Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavior Disorders. Later, she earned a certificate in K - 12 Reading from the University of Minnesota. Ms. Fish began teaching in Atlanta, Ga. teaching sixth grade. Returning to Minnesota, she taught third and fourth grade in South Minneapolis for five years. She taught Title 1 in North St. Paul-Maplewood Oakdale for six years before working in Special Education. Beginning Special Education in White Bear Lake, she then taught in Minneapolis for fifteen years before coming to St. Paul.
When not at school, Ms. Fish spends time with her four adult children and five grandchildren. She takes care of her home including gardening, mowing, and snow shoveling. She enjoys traveling, and hopes to do more.
I'm extremely happy to teach at Como Park Elementary. I find teachers and students very welcoming and hard working. With family history in this area, I feel at home. A favorite quote that I learned in elementary school and has formed my life is Good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good is better, and your better, best.
