Hello Saint Paul Public School (SPPS) Summer Session Student,
Welcome to Summer Learning Programs 2020, your opportunity to earn required high school credits or develop English language skills.
Summer Session will take place using distance learning, so keep your district-issued iPad. If you are returning to SPPS in the fall, you will keep your iPad throughout the summer. Those of you who will not be returning to SPPS in the fall because you are graduating or otherwise will receive information about returning your iPad at the end of Summer Session.
Important! Daily attendance, completion of assignments, and a passing letter grade are required in order to earn credit for a summer session course. There will be no Pass grades given for summer courses (only letter grades).
Daily requirements: You will need to log in and spend 1-1.5 hours per day on each course. Assignments will be posted each day at 8:00 a.m., and you will have until 11:59 p.m. that day to complete them.
Tip for Success #1: Set a consistent time and place to work on your courses every scheduled summer session day:
- 1 Course – 1-1.5 hours
- 2 Courses – 2-3 hours
- 3 Courses – 3-4.5 hours
Tip for Success #2: Log into and complete the assignment for each course every day in order to be considered present (vs. absent).
Tip for Success #3: Contact your teacher(s) at least once every few days for help understanding the daily lesson(s), getting questions answered, and finding out if you are on track to earn a passing letter grade.
Getting started: Check Campus Student to see your summer course schedule. Your teacher(s) will contact you by email before the first day of summer session with information about your course(s), including expectations for earning a passing letter grade. You will also find out when your teacher(s) can be contacted face to face virtually or by phone between the Summer Session Teacher Office Hours of 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Please ask your parent/guardian to review your Continual Learning Plan (CLP) with you and electronically sign it. It is located on Campus Parent. Parents/guardians who are signing the CLP during Session Two, will need to do so within the Back To School (Fall) iUpdate.
Have a great Summer Session!
