Ms. Cailee Labernik-Hiller

Welcome to my page!

My name is Cailee Labernik-Hiller (Kay-lee Luh-burn-ick Hill-er) and I am so excited to help our children learn and grow this year. A little background on me when not at school, I love to be on or near water either kayaking or taking a hike, I paint when I'm feeling creative, and I have a rambunctious cat named Simba who likes to play daily between his naps. If it's a rainy day you'll find me drinking hot tea and reading books all day. If it's sunny you'll find me sitting in the grass drinking iced tea and reading books all day. I LOVE to read!

I am starting my teaching career the fall of 2020 at Hazel Park as the Special Education Teacher working with students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) in the Primary Years Programme specifically working with students in Kindergarten-3rd Grade. Before Hazel Park I started my student teaching career in the Spring of 2017. I taught at many different schools in the Duluth school district and loved getting to create amazing learning environments with my students. I graduated from the University of Minnesiota Duluth in 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education (ages K-21).

After moving back down to the Twin Cities area I was on the hunt for a school that I knew that I would love. Finding that Hazel Park is an I.B. school immediately grabbed my interest. My favorite student teaching experince was teaching abroad at an I.B. school in Ljubljana, Slovenia. My students had a passion for learning, we built an amazing community of world citizens, and I was so lucky to help my students find excitement and creativity in everything we did. I know my students here will have that passion and we will find a way for us to be inspired to learn more everyday. I know that the most important part of being your teacher is establishing a relationship, I am so excited to get to know you! I can't wait to see what the school year will bring!

If email is not an option please feel free to call or text me during school hours (9:30AM-4PM) at this number: 651-378-4256 I'm so excited to hear from you!
