Hey E-STEM Raptors!
I am so excited about being part of the E-STEM team this year! Working at a school that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math has always been something that I am super passionate about! In STEM Tech class we will mostly focus on problem solving through the engineering design process. This course will be offered to you in grades 6-8. Sixth grade classes will be learning all about becoming responsible digital citizens, as well as learning to communicate our ideas in creative ways. Seventh grade students will be working on problem solving and coding skills. Eighth grade will be focusing on 3D design, modeling and printing. I cannot wait to see our E-STEM students display and grow their skills in technology. I am sure I will learn many things from my students as well!
I am starting my 16th year as a teacher!! Most of my experience has been at the elementary level, where I have taught 3rd grade at Horace Mann Elementary and Obama Elementary in St. Paul. I also spent 6 years of my career teaching in Arizona. I earned a Bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University and my Master's Degree from Northern Arizona University. I am so excited about being teaching middle school and helping students develop a passion for technology!
Outside of school, I am married to my lovely husband! We have a suuuuppppeeerr cute dog named Toby. I love running, spending time with friends and family, watching sports (Go Packers!) and traveling to new places!
I know that this school year will be full of excitement and learning! We will celebrate the good and work through the challenges together! I know we are going to make the best of this school year and that our E-STEM Family will be there to support all of us! Please reach out to me if you need any support! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you!
