• On November 12th , 2020, Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) announced that due to rising local COVID-19 case numbers, we transitioned most in-person programming across SPPS to distance learning.

This transition to distance learning includes our Stage 1 programs at RiverEast, Journeys, Bridge View, Focus Beyond and other Stage 1 sites; Discovery Club; Extended Day for Learning (EDL) at Washington Technology Magnet School; Special Education and English Language Learner in-person assessments; and Student Placement Center enrollment and Early Childhood screening.

In addition, Governor Walz's new Executive Order provides guidance on group gatherings and athletics and activities.

At this time, the following SPPS services will continue with adjustments:

    Nutrition Services

Home meal delivery will continue as normal. Meals are also available for pickup Monday-Friday at Central, Harding, Humboldt, Johnson and Washington Tech from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no meal delivery or pickup on Thursday and Friday, November 26-27. For other Thanksgiving meal resources, visit spps.org/fallmeals.

Academic Support Center at Washington Technology Magnet School

The Academic Support Center (ASC) will be closed on Friday, November 20, due to the scheduled non-school day. The ASC will reopen on Monday, November 23 and continue to serve students in grades PreK-12 through Wednesday, November 25.

To support the Governor’s executive order to limit in-person gatherings from multiple households for the next four weeks, the ASC will pause in-person student support until after the first of the year.

Programming is tentatively scheduled to resume January 25, 2021. For more specific information regarding the schedule and program, please visit spps.org/asc or talk to your child’s school.
