Athletic opportunities vary by school, but every student will learn about leadership, teamwork, commitment to goal achievement, building character, competition and school pride. Students must be academically and medically cleared to be eligible to participate. For more information about eligibility, specific programs and activities at your child’s school, contact your school’s athletic director or visit spps.org/sports.
Students in grades 7-12 with physical or cognitive disabilities are encouraged to compete in adapted athletics. Through experience in sports, athletes gain confidence for success in the classroom, at home, on the job and in the community.
